Why Edina?
The Edina School District is the #1 school district in the state for so many reasons, including near 100% graduation rates, the highest number of AP programs and number of students who actually pass the AP exams and receive college credit (around 88%), extremely high math and reading test scores, fabulous school choice programs for families entering kindergarten (beyond your local school, you can also apply by lottery to the Continuous Progress program at Highlands or Countryside, or the French Immersion program at Normandale), incredible extra-curricular activity offerings, and renowned sports programs, including more state championships than any other school in the state (over 155 and growing), all of which are listed by sport on the Edina Athletic Boosters Page.
Resources
For those of you considering the Edina School District, I wanted to recommend some additional resources for you. First, you can view the Annual Reports Page, packed with stats and figures, and you can read the most recent 2014 Annual Report. You can also watch a variety of very helpful videos on the Edina Schools YouTube Channel. For a great background on athletic programs, you can check out the Edina High School Athletics Page. Finally, and most importantly, I am happy to arrange for private appointments with the principal of any Edina, MN school you may be interested in.

Community Support
Keep in mind, beyond the great vision, staff, and programming of the Edina School District itself, there is immense support from the private sector flowing into all of these schools that gives our district a great edge over other communities. This includes a high rate of volunteerism and thousands of volunteer hours dedicated to support the schools, as well as substantial private dollars invested each year in the schools through PTO fundraising events (most elementary school PTO’s raise $30,000-$40,000 a year) and the Edina Education Fund, which raises approximately $500,000-$600,000 a year to fund innovation projects in the Edina School District, including both district-wide initiatives as well as school/classroom specific projects initiated by teachers.
