5731 Long Brake Cir has been such a great home to raise our family in, it breaks our heart in a way to be leaving. But with a new job starting out West, and both sets of grandparents moving even farther away, it’s time for this place to become home for another Edina family. The cul de sac is so quiet, but also full of energy. We were lucky during the pandemic to have those immediate outdoor spaces for bike riding, rollerblading, and nature adventures. That has carried over to the winter as well, as we skate and play hockey in the pond out back, and exercise and train for sports in the indoor sport court. We also love the self-sufficiency of the solar panels on the roof, which produce more than 100% of our electricity needs each year. Last year we got a check back from Xcel for $1,212! And the Dewey Hill location is so convenient to everything: freeways, groceries, airport, neighborhood parks, driving range, golf dome, and, of course, the 18-hole remodeled championship course at Braemar. We will especially miss the remodeled kitchen, which is the “‘heart” of our home. We painted and added wallpaper in the informal dining room, which gives it great character. We also added contemporary lantern lighting, granite counters and island, stainless Wolf gas cooktop, and a cute wine mini-fridge to better amenitize the space. It’s a place we love to gather and entertain in now, and allows us to overflow into the formal dining space as well for large dinner parties.
